The
crew land at the advanced building site. Bragg wants to explore
inside with the crew, but the other three boarders opt to wait outside.
Pixxi tries out the new dish, even better for extreme hoverboarding!
To fit DW-40 inside, the crew turn him on his side.
As Ellie illuminates the dark interior, a threat is revealed: some kind of raptor holding... a gun?!
The crew dive into cover, and find controls to turn the lights on...
...revealing more dinosaurs armed with clubs and guns!
As one of the Saurans opens fire, its gun suddenly explodes!
DW-40 manages to ram one of the Saurans over the edge into the caustic
liquid below.
Ellie uses a force blast to knock more over the edge.
In addition to his extra arms, Chet's latest mutation allows him to
absorb hazards, and he slurps up a bunch of the caustic water.
Chet finds a barrel with strange, dark liquid inside... DW-40 suggests it can be used to fuel the machinery in this place.
As the machines power up, it becomes evident to DW-40 they were shut
down for a reason. A catastrophic dimensional energy buildup begins...
DW-40 begins the emergency lockdown procedure, but not before the dish outside explodes with energy, sending Pixxi flying!
Blast doors begin to close, and Bragg, Chet and Ellie barely escape outside in time.
Ellie took physical form to grab important papers on the way out, and Chet salvaged another barrel of Dark Matter.
Then from out of nowhere, another defense mechanism activates and tears the door off the RV!
The boarders dub it "Metalsaur", and Ellie frantically drives away as everyone gets on board.
Chet throws the barrel of dark matter at the Metalsaur, and
regurgitates caustic fluid to explode it, blowing the Metalsaur's head
clean off!
As the RV makes its escape, DW-40 continues to explore the depths of
the base, seemingly unconcerned with being trapped inside.
He finds a logbook explaining the purpose and fate of the facility, but no one is around to share it with...
