Welcome to RADLANDS, a free to play, quick and easy, post-Apocalypse LARP.

What’s a LARP?

A Live Action Role Play game.   A game you play in the real world with your friends, in person.   It’s a sport that exercises your imagination.   There are lots of fantasy and historic LARPS out there, some of which take entire weekends to play.   We wanted something more contemporary and relatable, and took just a few hours to play.  Thus RADLANDS was born.

What’s Post-Apocalypse?

An imagined setting in the near future, after the end of society.   It can have any number of causes: Zombies, Meteor Strike, The Rapture, World War III, Global Warming.   Movies like Maze Runner or Mad Max, and video games like Fallout or Last of Us are great examples of the setting.

Is Radlands safe for me / my friends / my kids to play?

Certainly safer than the actual apocalypse!   Combat is handled safely with Nerf guns and soft foam props.  The effects of an irradiated, poisonous landscape are realized by simple marks on paper and your imagination.

You can decide for yourself if your kids are physically and mentally prepared for the game by looking over the rules.  Radlands is about finding supplies, avoiding hazards, and fending off monsters.  It has no need to dwell on anything darker.    Give it a PG-13 rating if you like.

What will the neighbors think?

Certainly be considerate of your surroundings when you play Radlands.  If someone sees a bunch of strangers in scary costumes ambushing each other, they might get the wrong idea!    Check here for tips to avoid trouble  when playing.

What do I need to play?

You’ll need at least 3 players, a few hours to play, and a place to play in.  You’ll want printed copies of the rules and components, and some regular envelopes and red markers.   Each player should have a single-shot Nerf or Dart gun or other type of foam weapon, a face mask or bandanna, and something to carry them in like a belt pouch, cargo pants, or a backpack.   Finally, you’ll need some containers to use as “tins”, plus a few common household items to put in the tins.
